We have hit the ground running in Year 6 leaping into becoming Dragonologists. We are learning all about the features, lifecycles and behaviour of dragons as well as learning about the differences between Eastern and Western dragons which can only help our study. WE are hoping to identify even the rarest species of dragon successfully.
In PSHE, we have set our learning goals and used our artwork so far this term to express emotions as well as portray our personality through a Wayob and other symbols. Due to the nice weather over the last couple of weeks, we have also been watering and harvesting in our courtyard garden. We have picked quite the haul of runner beans!
Year 4 2021-2022
And that's that!
An incredible year has finally come to an end. We've laughed, we've learned and we've grown so much. A new adventure is right around the corner! Thank you to all you wonderful parents for your incredible support throughout the year.
keeping our feet cool in this classroom with trays of water, lovely!
We thoroughly enjoyed making our very own pizza from scratch! We used tomatoes and herbs to make the sauce alongside flour and yoghurt for the dough. We then topped our pizzas with chicken, pepper and much more whilst creating our own pizza boxes!
Judo taster session
We were very lucky to enjoy an opportunity to try our hand at Judo! Our Sensei was very helpful and showed us the basics in a safe and controlled yet fun environment.
Science Week 2022
The theme of our Science Week was water. We learned all about the importance of clean water around the world with a talk from Alan, a speaker from WaterAid. We discussed ways we could help others access clean water. As well as this, we created our own water cycles to observe in class and also learned about salt-water density. We used pipettes to place different colour water on top of each other to create funky patterns!
World Book Day 2022
Year 4 was filled with a wide range of characters this year including Percy Jackson, Amelia Fang and a generous range of Harry Potters! We read books, shared and discussed our favourite novels and even designed our very own book corner for the class.
Ufton Court 2022
Year 4 had an absolutely incredible time at Ufton Court along with the lovely Year 5s. We experienced so many things from circumnavigation, searching for Catholic clues and re-enacting our very own banquet. Here is just a small collection of photos of the entire class, dressed up in their dazzling Tudor outfits.
It was really brilliant to see the children spend some time away from home and demonstrate their independence, confidence and positivity and we are all so proud of them.
Happy New Year!
We hope you all had a well rested holiday and enjoyed some quality family time. A quick but very grateful thank you to for all the lovely cards and gifts. We're really looking forward to getting the Spring term started!
Mr Young and Mrs Loyal :)
In the build up to Christmas, we have been very busy making lots of different crafts! We've created our own elf masks, Christmas cards for the less fortunate, tree decorations and also immortalising ourselves as Santa's little helpers! Wishing everyone a safe and festive holiday.
As part of our electricity topic, we created working circuits which included bulbs, buzzers and switches!
YEAR 4 2021
The classroom was transformed into an Egyptian tomb and the children had to complete a series of tasks in order to escape! To begin with, the children created their own Egyptian jewellery before discovering the Hieroglyphic alphabet on a scavenger hunt. After lunch we practised the ancient art of mummification on some very unlucky fruit, before creating our own Egyptian artwork using pastels and pictures of ourselves.
This term, we studied our wonderful capital city. We studied maps, learned about some of the amazing monuments, created leaflets and posters and even discovered the wonders of the Windrush Generation and the Notting Hill carnival.
Great job everyone!
You have all been amazing and have adjusted to remote learning on Teams so well. We love seeing you all, hearing all of your ideas and receiving your assignments. Keep up the fantastic work - we'll be sharing some of it as we continue on our learning journey.
Thank you for your patience as we learn to navigate through Teams together.
Happy New Year!
We hope you've all had a lovely Christmas and enjoyed the holidays. We'd also like to say a big thank you for our generous gifts and for all of your support throughout the school year this far. With best wishes for the New Year from, Mrs Gibb, Mrs Pasha and Mrs Smith x
Spring Term - Living Things and Habitats
Year 2 have been enjoying getting outside and starting their new topic of living things and their habitats. They looked at things that are living, things that have never been alive, and things that were once alive and are now dead. They have also been looking at habitats, and what makes different habitats suitable for different living things.
Christmas Nativity 2019
All the children in year 1 and year 2 put on a marvellous performance of "Everyone Loves a Baby", wowing us all with their fabulous singing, dancing and acting. It was everything we needed to get us into the festive spirit!
Hatch Ride's naughty elf, Patch, has been misbehaving again! He stole some of Mrs Green's elves and hid them in different shops in Crowthorne High Street. The children, using their map reading skills, made their way to the high street, and following his clues found all the elves.
