For home learning this week:
Reading - Try to read your reading book or another text daily and sign your reading record when you do. You can read your school books or other books that you might have at home.
Spellings - This week we will be starting on split vowel digraphs, starting with 'a_e' - the letters together make the 'ai' sound that we already know but they have other letters in between them (more info on the parent sheet below). There are also two Year 1 common exception words that need to be learnt by sight rather than applying a rule.
The test will be the first Monday after half term (30th October) in the spelling books. Please remember to keep this book in your child's reading folder so that it's ready for each Monday morning.
Phonics - You can practise this week's sound 'a_e' by spotting them in words, hide the sounds at home and play a game or play buried treasure (Phase 5) on Phonics play.
You can complete any tasks from the Autumn 1 enrichment grid.
