Monday 7th February
The morning will be looking at the reading comprehension task saved below and practise the joined handwriting saved below. You can also test your spellings from last week (words with 'igh' sounds in them).
Phonics
Keep practising your Phase 3 and 5 sounds. You could try hunting for flashcards of them around the house or look for them in your favourite books. Try reading and writing them in your best handwriting.
Maths
We are looking at counting in 2s today. There are lots of brilliant videos on YouTube if you search for 'Counting by 2s'. You could make flashcards yourself at home or use your toys to make groups of two to count. See how high you can count in 2s!
Tuesday 8th February 2022
English
Today, you are going to start writing your instructions on how to make a fruit salad. I have saved an example below to help you and I have saved a template sheet that you could use or you could write it on paper from home. There is a word bank below to help with spellings. Try to have a go by yourself and see what you are able to write. Challenge yourself by using describing words to make it more interesting!
Phonics
Play some of the free games on Phonics Play or Phonics Bloom to practise blending sounds together and applying your Phase 3 and 5 sounds.
Maths
I have attached an activity sheet to practise counting in 2s. You could carry on from yesterday by practising counting in 2s aloud or practising writing your numbers as you count in 2s on paper or using toys from around your house. You could make flashcards with numbers and practise ordering them.
Thursday 10th February 2022

Try the writing activity from Tuesday. We started at school but didn't finish. Try writing some instructions about making a fruit salad like 'Cut the pineapple and put it in a bowl'. Challenge yourself by using 'and' and describing words like yellow pineapple or sharp knife.

Try playing some of the free activities from Phonics Play. Practise your Phase 2, 3 and 5 sounds and try reading them in words by sounding them out aloud.
Maths
Practise counting in 5s. There are lots of brilliant YouTube videos with songs that you can use to practise. You could also organise groups of objects or toys at home and count them in 5s. You could make flashcards and order them too.
