Monday and Tuesday:

 

Test your spellings - is, his, him, if, in, it, it's, big 

 

Practicing Phase 2 and 3 sounds and reading using Oxford Owl website.

 

Writing:

Reading Dear Zoo - you can watch it on YouTube and then we are writing our own version of Dear Zoo but changing it to Dear Toy Shop to match our topic.

 

It will look like:

 

I wrote to the Toy Shop to send me a toy. They sent me a barbie. She was too pink! I sent her back.

 

When writing we are looking for:

  • Finger spaces
  • Capital letters at the start of a sentence or after a full stop or exclamation mark
  • Full stops
  • Using our sounds
  • Exclamation marks !
  • Describing words (like pink, big, small etc)

 

Creating the pop up flap with a drawing underneath like in the Dear Zoo story.

 

Maths:

Part whole models activity 

 

Wednesday 

 

Practicing new spellings - up, cup, mum, put, hut, nut, but, bus

 

Practicing Phase 2 and 3 sounds and reading using Oxford Owl website.

 

Look at the Autumn Enrichment grid and Home Learning for the week.

 

Writing:

 

Alien Encounter activity. 

 

Maths:

 

Number bonds within 10 sheet.

Using BBC bitesize for videos to help.

 

Thursday

 

Practicing new spellings - up, cup, mum, put, hut, nut, but, bus

 

Practicing Phase 2 and 3 sounds and reading using Oxford Owl website.

 

Look at the Autumn Enrichment grid and Home Learning for the week.

 

Reading:

 

Try the Bats reading comprehension sheet.

 

Maths:

 

Number bonds to 10 sheet. Looking at Numberblocks video "Ten Again" for ideas and top marks website for number bonds games.

 

History/Art:

 

Ask your Mum or Dad about their favourite book when they were little. Look at pictures of those books. Try drawing your own illustrations for those books or make your own front cover for those books.

 

Friday 

 

Practicing new spellings - up, cup, mum, put, hut, nut, but, bus

 

Phonics and Reading:

 

Using Roy the Zebra website to use reading games. You can practice capital letters, alphabetical order and many others.

 

Maths:

 

Using objects around the house, show different ways to make your number bonds. Look at the Maths Home Learning sheet for ideas on fun number bonds games to try. 

 

Outdoor learning:

 

Looking for signs of Autumn in your garden. Take photos or draw what you find. Use the internet to help look up pictures of signs of Autumn.
