We are writing our 'Dear Zoo' stories. I have saved template sheet if you would like to use it.

You can watch the video to remind you of the story.

You can then work independently to write a retelling of the story. You could write 'I wrote to the zoo to send me a pet. They sent me a elephant. He was too big! I sent him back'. We have practised it at school last week and see what you can write.

Tomorrow we will decorate the sheet and create the picture with a flap like in the story book.

Practising blending words by playing 'Buried Treasure' on Phonics Play. It is a free game and you can practise reading Phase 2, 3 and 4 words.

You could also look at the coins on the game that I have saved below.

We are looking at adding single digit numbers together. Have a look at the PowerPoint saved for examples. You could try the activity sheet and mastery cards if you finish.

If you would prefer, you can do it practically by making tens frames and part whole models (like in the PowerPoint) and use objects from around the house to complete the tens frames and part whole models. You could then try writing number sentences to match like 3 + 4 = 7.
