Science

In Science, we are learning all about space and the movement of the planets around the sun. In today's lesson, we will be looking further into the movement of Earth and take a deeper look into how shadows are created.

See if you can answer the questions on slide 2 of Wednesday's powerpoint.

For today's activity, you will be placing an object outside in the sun and measuring the shadow of the object at different times of the day.

Before you start the activity you will need to make a prediction on what you think the shadow will do during the day. To do this you will need to fill out the prediction section on the sheet.

At the times 9:30am, 11:30am, 1:30pm and 2:30pm measure the shadow of the object that is placed outside. The object must be in the same position every time you measure the shadow.

You may want to do this experiment with different objects throughout the day.

After your experiment, watch this video and see if your results match what is being described.
